The House UK Release Date Set for JuneI’ve been looking forward to this one for almost two years now, and it’s great to see the project finally coming to fruition. Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler star in Warner Bros.’ anticipated comedy. And now the studio has confirmed The House UK release date is set for the height of summer, with some big competition at the box office.

Along with confirmation of The House UK release date, WB has also released a great first trailer. As we’ve come to expect from him, Jason Mantzoukas looks like he’s going to be a hilarious supporting character in this. It’s a great concept with a fantastic writing team behind it, and gives me hope that it should be one of the summer season’s funniest films.

After Scott and Kate Johansen (Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler) lose their daughter Alex’s college fund, they become desperate to earn it back so she can pursue her dream of attending a university. With the help of their neighbor Frank (Jason Mantzoukas), they decide to start an illegal casino in the basement of his house.

Ryan Simpkins, Nick Kroll, Jessie Ennis, Rob Huebel, Cedric Yarbrough, Michaela Watkins, Andrea Savage, and Allison Tolman co-star.

Andrew Jay Cohen makes his feature directorial debut at the helm, having previously co-written Neighbors and Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising. He co-wrote the script with his Neighbors writing partner, Brendan O’Brien.

Warner Bros. must be feeling pretty bullish about Cohen’s comedy, because The House UK release date is set for the same day as Despicable Me 3. The last Despicable Me film opened to a massive £14.8m in its first weekend. And Minions wasn’t far behind with £11.7m. Despicable Me 3 is bound to be huge this summer as well. But The House should play very well as counter-programming for those out there who aren’t so keen on Gru and co. It’s also sandwiched in between Transformers: The Last Knight and Spider-Man: Homecoming, so it’s also going to be gunning for audiences who are franchise-fatigued by superheroes.

The House UK release date is set for June 30th. It opens in the US on the same day.
