We heard last week that Lionsgate is re-titling the third and fourth instalments in The Divergent Series. Originally due to be called Allegiant – Part 1 and Allegiant – Part 2, next year’s third movie will now simply be called Allegiant, followed by Ascendant in 2017. Continue reading
After dominating the January box office, American Sniper was finally taken down last month by family-friendly SpongeBob, before things got steamy for two straight weekends with Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey. With winter well and truly behind us, the spring box office is kicking off this weekend. The next four frames boast a great mix of blockbuster and independent films alike, making for a strong balance between the two for March’s must-see movies.
Disney and DreamWorks both have more family-friendly fare to follow in SpongeBob’s footsteps. Neill Blomkamp returns with another sci-fi blockbuster, following on from his sophomore effort, Elysium. Liam Neeson is back for his second actioner in almost as many months. And there’s plenty of strong filmmaking that bowed on the festival circuit last year heading into cinemas on both sides of the Atlantic over the next few weeks. So something for everyone.
