The MPAA may have been a little shy in detailing their R rating for Fifty Shades of Grey, but the BBFC seems to be a little harder to make blush. The British rating board has given Sam Taylor-Johnson’s adaptation an 18 rating in the UK, and goes into a little more detail than the ‘unusual behavior’ described by its US counterpart.
Jamie Dornan has revealed that he won’t be going full frontal as Christian Grey. But there’s still enough sex, nudity, and plenty more, to warrant an 18 rating. And unlike in the US, where children under age can still see an R if they’re accompanied by an adult, this means that it’s 100% a no-go for anyone 17 and under. Continue reading
