Game of Thrones Season 6 is probably the most anticipated series of 2016. The finale of Season 5 left us on an epic cliffhanger. And while it was also (hopefully) fairly obvious what the outcome would be, we still have a lot of questions.
It’s those questions that HBO is completely failing to answer with this first teaser for the new season, which we’ve got to wait until April to see. Instead of giving us footage from the upcoming season, it shows us what has already come to pass.
We have Max von Sydow’s Three-Eyed Raven narrating most of it. And what I can’t decide is if the final epic line, ‘They have no idea what’s going to happen,’ is spoken by Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) or Jojen (Thomas Brodie-Sangster). I’d love Brodie-Sangster to come back for more, and am keeping my fingers crossed for Jojen’s return in Season 6.
The past is already written. The ink is dry. Game of Thrones Season 6 premieres in April, 2016.
The fate of Jon Snow is of course still kept unknown. Showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff have been doing a great job of maintaining a decent shroud of secrecy around Kit Harington’s fate. He’s been spotted near the set, so the expectations is a return for at least one episode. But more than that is just speculation. Though, as I said, hopefully the semi-likely outcome will be what happens. (Melisandre, all eyes on you.)
Game of Thrones Season 6 premieres sometime in April 2016. It airs in HBO in the US and on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
